Honest AND Umlaut?!
That's some Voltron shit there, my friends.

Torso Revisited

Weeks later, SW 3rd and Ankeny. I love it! And it was hit by one of my fave pictographers (my word for people who use a pic instead of a word as their tag).

Dear Brandon Flowers,

Damn you! Even the worst songs on your new album (90% of said album) have great choruses, which means I have to listen to the cur'sed thing. So just do me a favor: From now on, if you absolutely MUST put a crappy sax bit in your songs, go for more of a John Zorn feel as opposed to that insufferable Kenny G. shite you settled on. Thanks.

Yrs,
P. Royale

PS- My former go-to-guy, Dr. Amiralanche (still dude, Seventeen Seconds?! Come on, that's just so wrong) will never admit it, but he loves you. He told me that in a just world you would be allowed to take the nickname The Boss from Springsteen.

Florida Room

For the sake of Jessica's privacy I digitally smudged her last name.
Apparently one can have a good time in the Florida Room men's room. Make a note of it.

And even more NW Stencils

Sperm whales, forks, and COMM? Is there a pattern?

21.3.09

Stencils in NW

More Northwest. Curioser and curioser.

20.3.09

NW

Northwest Portland has a lot of art going on. Weird, as it is the most white-washed fucking place in the city.
And I figured Jesus more for a Judo Air kinda guy. Was Animal Chin actually Jesus in disguise?!

SE 31st & Belmont

Again, I don't usually post graffiti thrown up with permission, but this is some good frickin' art. I love the Easter Island-like spray can head figures in the second pic.

17.3.09

Randomness

Well, I neglected to write these locations down. Most are from the NW industrial zone of Portland. The Sad Bunny and the Lost Cause are down by the river over a wall and well hidden from prying eyes. That might explain why they are so sad.

15.3.09

NW Quimby & 22nd (?)

This was some random graffiti scrawled on wood and nailed or, in the case of the one by the Starbucks drink bottle, glued to some places. The orange one on the bushes has been magically transported to my apartment until I decide it is time to post it somewhere else, preferably in another city or country. My fave is the apology to mom.

14.3.09

Sanctioned, but OK

I generally shy away from art that is obviously OK'd by the owners of the property, but this is a good one. This person had hit another building down on N Williams but it was recently torn down. I like their work.

The Perch, North Lombard

This was only posted on the Men's room, which means I have to gear up somewhere else or I have to go the tranny route.
Decisions, decisions...

Stickers also make it easier to put up something a little more detailed without the hazard of getting hit, and they are even faster than wheatpaste. Bravo!

SE Sandy & Oak

This is a nice big wheatpaste piece. In retrospect I should have included something in the picture to give some perspective of its size, but alas, i didn't. It's about 4and a half feet tall. Good stuff. I like that wheatpaste gives one the opportunity to put up a fairly detailed piece in a pretty quick amount of time. Pretties up the neighborhood, minimizes your chances of getting nailed.

I've seen this one around North Portland, notably under the pier down at Triangle Park. I like it

Man, either Honest lives here, was fired from here, or just likes it as a practice space. Either way, it makes me happy.
